Galería de las Misiones is pleased to participate again in ARCO Madrid. In this edition we present a selection of masters of modern art such as Joaquín Torres García, Carmelo Arden Quin, Jesús Rafael Soto, Antonio Seguí, Francisco Matto, Julio Alpuy, María Freire or José Pedro Costigliolo among others.
We will have a special section dedicated to the last artistic period of Horacio Torres (1924-1976) during which the artist moves away from constructivism and geometric abstraction to rediscover himself as a figurative artist with a series of nudes made between 1971 and 1975 that, in the words of Kenworth Moffett, then curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, describes him as "one of the best, if not the better, figurative painter of the moment, Balthus being the only one who could compete with him."
